Three Local Female Owned Boutique Highlights
My favorite flavor of female empowerment is sharing stories. Successes, failures, ideas, pivots, partnerships, rebrands, launches, fresh takes... experiences. Creative endeavors and whirlwind idea sessions. Cheering for and learning from women.
Below are examples of women in our community waking up each day and choosing to share something personal with the world...escorted by a tall glass of vulnerability-usually hidden in their sure-to-be fabulous handbag. Stay tuned for more.
Edit & Co
A sophisticated style stop for investment pieces and classically chic looks. I’ll send you to Katie at Edit in the fall for the chunky *elevated everyday cardigan that dreams are made of. I’ll send you to Katie at Edit for the most luxurious loungewear that will have you deemed a Fitness Barbie by all your friends while you’re sitting pretty in the pickup line. And I’ll send you to Katie at Edit for beautiful photoshoot worthy dresses, structured button-down tops, wide-leg trousers and on trend footwear from sneakers to boots. Additionally, I will shout it from the mountain to have your partner go by Edit for “sweet nothing” jewelry gifts. Just put a little bug in the ear of your loved ones that a perfect gift destination is on the corner of Broadway and 2nd street in Downtown Edmond. Trendy puffy hoops, gorgeous tennis bracelets, initial necklaces as well as stunning diamond with gemstone cluster necklaces. If that doesn’t convince you... I’ll let these brand names do the talking... find them all at Edit & Co. in Downtown Edmond.. Alice & Olivia, Anine Bing, Aviator Nation, Citizens of Humanity, Gola, Hanky Panky, Jenny Bird (accessories), MOTHER, Pistola, Rag & Bone, SPANX, Veja and more. Tell Katie and her darling staff I said hi.
Hair Candy by Han
Prediction: this shop becomes an Oklahoma City destination stop for bachelorette parties, girls nights and concert goers. If there was an official Taylor Swift Eras Tour accessories brand, it would be Hair Candy by Han. Hannah’s charismatic personality perfectly aligns with her brand. I imagine that she literally dances through her day teaching “dopamine dressing”. I love visiting HCBH with my little girl, Kennedy. We try on a million floral headbands, hair skittles, bejeweled sunglasses, queen rings and necklaces with sizes for both her and I. The fringe earrings (aka “Rainbows”) come in a parade of color and size options. Hannah faithfully drops new collections for every important occasion and hosts corresponding online girls nights *literal parties. This highlight belongs to Hannah for sharing her heart and her gems with us-both in person and through her online community. But be warned, the sparkly craving can’t be cured with one purchase girl. It’s a lifestyle. PS, a special moment to celebrate the newly added Vintage Gems portion of HCBH. You’ll discover hand selected vintage dresses, skirts, blazers and overlays. Go by her shop, hug her neck and tell her I said hi.
City & Stars Boutique
In the west village of Oklahoma City, just walking distance from our treasured Jones Assembly, find City & Stars Boutique. You may actually hear beach waves and taste salty air as you enter because the beautifully rare California vibe is unmistakable. I like to think of it as a coastal lifestyle breath of fresh air (esp for Oklahoma girls). Michelle curates this small shop with intention and a clear perspective. Beloved brands like FreePeople, Show Me Your MUMU, ASTR the Label and more. Flowy maxi dresses in beautiful blue hues paired with petite gold & pearl earrings. Classic fedora silhouette hats, linen trousers and knit tops. It’s Golden Hour all the time in this shop. Making this shop even more unique, it is the only walk-in permanent jewelry studio in OKC... no appointment needed. Grab a friendship bracelet with your bestie, tell Michelle she’s doing amazing and use the wave emoji in your instagram post girl -because you’re a beach babe now.
